Name of the Post : Deputy Directors of Operations in Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Civil Aviation.
No. of Posts : 08 (SC-01, OBC-02, UR-05). The posts are Permanent.
Pay Scale: Rs.15,600-39,100 (PB-3) + Rs. 7,600 (Grade Pay) (T.E. Rs.48,024/-Approx.) + TA and HRA as admissible, General Central Service Group 'A', Gazetted, Non-Ministerial.
Age*: 50 yrs.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATIONAL:
Degree in Engineering in Aeronautical or Electrical or Electronics discipline(s) from a recognized University; OR Master's degree in Science in the subjects of Electronics or Physics.
B. EXPERIENCE: Eight years' experience in one or more of the following:-
(a) Air Traffic Control with Aerodrome Control or Approach Control or Area Control rating, or (b)Licensing of Aerodromes or Flight Crew or Air Transport, or (c) Management of airside operations of major or international civil airport, or (d) Aircraft flying with Commercial Pilot License, or (e) Aircraft flying in Defence services, or (f) Flight Operations department of a scheduled airlines. Note:-I (i) The period of required experience may also be considered by combining experience in more than one field listed above. (ii) The period of actual training in any of the specialized area (as specified in Essential Qualifications (B) may be counted towards experience provided that such benefits will be restricted to a maximum period of one year.
DUTIES: Carrying out Aerodrome inspection and examining the Aerodrome inspection reports with the view to recommend issue/renewal of Aerodrome license. Recommendations relating to issue of No Objection Certificate for construction around the airport. Examining the document relating to Flight Crew Standards and their flying /proficiency checks and recommending issue/renewal of Flight Crew Licenses. Recommending grant of permission for Non-schedule operations requested by the foreign operators. Examining the documents relating to Air Taxi Operators/Schedule Domestic Operators relating to issue/renewal of their permits. Examining the Tariff filled by the schedule operators. Examining the procedures relating to Air Traffic Control Systems and ratings of Air Traffic Controllers with the view to standardize them. Investigation of operational incidents to aircraft including Air Traffic Control incidents.
HQ: Headquarter and Regional Offices of DGCA and liable to serve all over India.
